Bridges between people

I am a lifelong Union Ironworker by trade. I have built many real-world bridges. I think that's what motivates me to build bridges between people.

The drumbeat of my heart is that the body of Christ be a unified body.

I want to see my people

What I see is that other social networks fill the feed with posts that are not what I want to see. I want to see my family, my friends, and my groups that I am part of.

Instead, now what I see is an inordinate amount of posts that are marketing and influencers. In fact, often I am never even shown the posts of the people or organizations I am part of. I have to specifically look up individual people to see what they have posted. This is crazy to me.

On Facebook, only about 1 in 5 posts in your feed comes from your friends, by Meta's own numbers. About 41% is recommended content from accounts you don't even follow, and that's before ads.

Being formed as a nonprofit

The Gathering is being formed as a nonprofit. That doesn't mean everything is free. What it means is that we have pledged that we will do our best to keep costs low.

Banks like Stripe charge money for doing financial transactions that are outside of our control. And we have pledged not to focus on the corporate grind of squeezing our users out of every dollar and every moment of attention we can get out of you.

I am tempted to make this the #1 item and delete all the rest! LOL. As my heart is driven by praise and worship. Nothing makes me more excited. It's what we were made for. I built this as a living community of praise and worshipers. You don't praise and worship alone here. You praise and worship with others in real time. And you can interact with the worship, and others can see and enjoy it with you. Here we are all together, worshiping. This has been optimized to stream from your TV, so you can put this up on your TV at home and see the global church worshiping with you and me.

Community of Sharing

Our answer to Marketplace. Three ways: donate it, share it, or sell it. My heart is that people would become more accustomed to giving to each other and sharing with each other.

One of the easiest systems for churches, groups, or anyone to receive donations. Secure, a couple of taps, and no extra platform fee from us. Stripe processing applies. Who wants to go to your tired web page with almost no activity to bring tithes and offerings? This is the community square of believers, where we're interacting already, and in a couple of clicks we bring our offerings into the storehouse of the Lord.
