Pushpay's pricing page does not list a dollar subscription. We are not guessing one.
| The Gathering | Pushpay, from their public pages | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | No platform subscription for the app, and no application fee on a gift. | Their pricing page tells a church to request a demo for pricing. It says there is no setup fee, payment is by automatic ACH monthly or yearly, and contracts are 1, 2, or 3 years. Canceling early still requires the balance of the contract to be paid. They also say check scanning starts at $0.29 per check. |
| Giving | One-time and recurring gifts through Stripe. Cards are estimated at Stripe's published standard 2.9% + $0.30. US bank transfer is estimated at 0.8% capped at $5. The church can apply to Stripe for a nonprofit rate. The app does not assume that rate. | Their giving page describes online giving, text giving, in-app giving, recurring gifts, and other tools they name, including Everygift. We are not restating a Pushpay processing percentage. Their pricing page does not publish one simple rate card. |
| App | One free church app on the web, shared by churches that join. Chat, prayer, events, and YouTube live alerts are in that same app. | Their church app page describes a consolidated app and a custom app in the stores, with in-app giving. ChurchStaq subscribers, they say, also get check-in, volunteer schedules, and groups. |
Pushpay is aimed at churches that want a dedicated giving company and are ready to talk to sales. The Gathering fits a church that wants giving inside a free church app and already uses, or can open, a Stripe account.
Questions pastors ask
Is The Gathering a free alternative to Pushpay?
For churches that want giving inside a free church app, yes. There is no platform fee right now. Pushpay's pricing page asks you to request a quote (checked October 2026).
Can we move from Pushpay to The Gathering?
You can take gifts here once the church connects Stripe. The Gathering does not move an existing Pushpay account.
How do giving fees compare?
The Gathering adds no application fee. Cards are estimated at Stripe's published standard 2.9% + $0.30. Pushpay's pricing page does not publish one simple rate card, so this page does not invent one.
